CDL Truck Driver

Salary Grade: $28.50/hr

This role is responsible for ensuring timely and complete delivery of orders or overseeing the quality and efficiency of delivery drivers and operations.
Summary of Duties:
•Record Keeping: Maintain a detailed log of working hours, mileage, and any incidents that occur in compliance with state and federal regulations, interacting with customers in a professional manner.
•Vehicle Maintenance: Perform pre- and post- trip vehicle inspection reports. Ability to perform basic maintenance tasks and report any mechanical issues in a timely manner.
•Compliance: Strong knowledge of safety regulations, maximum miles driven, etc. Obeying and following applicable traffic laws, complying with ICC and DOT Regulations.
•Driving: Navigate narrow roads and complicated intersections, pick-up and safely transport goods to the intended destination, check weather conditions, road reports before departure, and ensure vehicle cleanliness is maintained.
•Customer Service Skills: Strong communication and coordination with dispatchers, and vendors.
Work Experience Required:
•Previous knowledge of dealing with agricultural commodities/products is preferred but not required
•Two years of proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
Education and Work Experience/Requirement:
• Valid Class A CDL Required, this may have been obtained through a Truck Driving Institute or School
• High School Diploma or GED preferred
Skill Set Requirement:
•Clean driving record with no moving violations
•Ability to pass pre-employment DOT Drug Screen
•Proficiency with using GPS and other routing systems
•Map reading and routing planning experience
•Reliable and dependable work ethic
•Good vision and coordination and hand eye coordination
•Knowledge and ability to park and maneuver heavy/larger equipment
Physical Requirement:
•Must possess a Valid Class medical card
•Ability to perform light truck maintenance and lift 50 pounds comfortably.
Environmental Factor/Working Conditions:
•Work environment may require immediate response to spontaneous customer demands
•Hours of operation will range based on the demand of the customer, and more specifically will align with the driver group they are fulfilling.
