Overview of Position

Lennard Ag is a family-owned, three-generations deep farming operation that has been producing and delivering quality vegetables and grain crops since 1947. Anchored by our strong history, Lennard Ag’s modern operations are complemented by their care for the land, their community, and the people with whom they work.

Summary of Duties

  • Maintain, repair, and overhaul farm machinery and vehicles, such as tractors, harvesters, and irrigation systems

  • Schedule preventive maintenance on equipment to ensure safe and effective operations

  • Dismantle defective machines for repair using hand tools

  • Reassemble machines and equipment following repair, testing operation and making adjustments as necessary

  • Clean and lubricate parts

  • Diagnose components to determine method of repair needed

  • Safely operate a wide variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment

  • Record repair and inspection documentation, including details of repairs made and parts used

  • Carry out machine shop duties as allocated in a timely manner

  • Maintain parts inventory records

Work Experience Requirement

  • Previous farm experience is recommended but not required

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Education Requirement

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • At least a 2-year degree in ag mechanics or diesel technology

Skill Set Requirement

  • Welding experience preferred

  • Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities while maintaining tight deadlines

  • Ability to work occasional evenings and holidays as needed to meet production requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow oral instructions to perform mechanical repairs without supervision

Physical Requirement

  • Standing and walking for long periods of time

Environmental Factor / Working Conditions

  • Work is performed in a shop/farm operational setting

  • Activities may require PPE

  • May be exposed to weather conditions such as dust, wind, wet, and humid conditions

  • Some travel may be required

  • Work environment requires immediate response to spontaneous customer demands

  • Hours of operation range from 7am to 4pm and may vary based on crop demand and the season
